Hooky Day

Hot Mama and I played hooky the other day.  No, we didn’t just skip out on work without telling anyone.  We chose to ask off for a day that the kid was going to be in daycare so that we could celebrate our anniversary without the worries of taking care of a child.

It was great.  To be honest it was like the good old days.  We were able to go see things that we wouldn’t normally do with the kid.  We drove to a town, severely disappointed in the town and decided to drive to another one that we were wanting to visit in the first place.

Normally, we wouldn’t be able to just drive to a place and if we weren’t happy be able to drive to another place.  The kid would get very grumpy spending so much time in the car seat.

I recommend this to any couple who has a kid, just take some time away from the kids.  It is good for the relationship.  I’m not talking about just a date night, those are needed more often then a “hooky day.” I’m talking about letting the daycare take care of the child for the day and the two of you get out and do things that you can’t normally do either with your kids or because of your work schedule.

This was a great way to spend our anniversary considering I have to work the day of it, come to think about it, I have to work my birthday which is the day before! Ugh this should be a great week coming up!

  1. Hope you had fun! Should we be expecting another little chipmunk as a result of you playing hooky? 🙂

  2. The joys of television!
