Friday FAIL

This story comes to us from the Toronto SUN (thanks to Shannon over at One of those Memories)

Note: I did not fix the obvious misspelling at the end of the article.  Look in the last paragraph! So the fail also goes to the Toronto SUN on this one too!

A woman who allegedly used her little girl “as a weapon” has been located, Toronto Police said Wednesday.

The woman, who is about 30 years old, was on the TTC’s Dundas streetcar Friday when a brawl broke out, Const. Wendy Drummond said.

“There was an verbal altercation with another passenger, and the suspect swung the baby (who she was now holding) at the victim,” Drummond alleged.

The woman, who police were seeking to identify until she was found Wednesday evening, boarded the streetcar around 5 p.m. at Parliament St. with the child, who was seated in a stroller.

A 25-year-old woman was not seriously injured in the attack, police said.

Several passengers tried to intervene and the suspect allegedly pulled the hair of one person trying to break up the fight.

“It’s a very rare situation. Our concern is for the welfare of the child,” Drummond said. “The incident was enough to shock several of the passengers who witnessed it.

“Everyone is concerned for the well-being of the child.”

The TTC driver alerted police but the woman and child, who appeared to be about two years old, got off the streetcar at Broadview station, before officers arrived.

It was unclear if woman was the mother of the girl, Drummond said.

The invesitgation is continuing and anyone with information should contact 55 Division at 416-808-5500 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 416-222 TIPS (8477) or online at

  2. Hahaha – I see it now 🙂 I never said I was good at spelling. I was looking for words that had a Canadian spelling vs an American spelling.

  3. LOL … More than a year later and I’ve come this! My bad on the typo. Next time just email me at and I can fix it quickly. I’m on leave right now, but I return at the end of September 2012 (or should I say Spetember … !).
