The First Summer Vacation (Pt 1)

These toys are MINE!

This weekend we are taking our first atleast two vacations.   This will be the first time that we are away from the amenities of a home (even though we have gone to see the in-laws we stayed at their house), the first hotel stay, and the first time we drive longer then a 2 hour stretch, and the first time that we take the chipmunk in a pool.   This will be interesting in the fact that there will be a few firsts involved.   Even though this is only a 2 day trip out to see family, I’m still considering it a vacation since I am off work for a couple much-needed days.

So we know that this will the longest road trip that we have taken and we are already talking about how we are going to survive it.   In previous trips it has only been a drive of about 2 hours and the chipmunk will last about an hour and half and then needs to either be fed, changed, or both.   I have made this drive a few times so I atleast am aware of the few places we can stop along the way,  whether they have baby changing stations, I don’t know HAHA!  What I do know is that I will have a much slower cell network connection (boo)!!!!

This will be a nice little preview for our more extensive vacation later this summer when we ride the train to our destination!   So get ready to “Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, its bobsled vacation time!”  If you can guess what movie that comes from you’ll win… hmm… I don’t know

  1. The world they can’t believe – Jamaica has a bobsled team 🙂

Enjoy your mini vacation! I’m sure the chipmunk will be fine.

  2. Logistics, logistics…the need we never knew we needed until kids. 🙂

Enjoy your vacation! Wooohoo! These are going to be a memorable time for your kid. Maybe consider bringing pull-up diapers? This is something we learned when we first travelled- difficult to find a place to change diapers- so we brought pull-up diapes the second time we travelled- easier to wear on.

  4. All the pull-ups we’ve used leak. (super leaky boys perhaps?) I wouldn’t go there!
